What you need to get started:
Quilt top:
1/4 yd. each of ten different fabrics for the chevron stripes
1 1/2 yds. of neutral field fabric
Quilt backing:
3 1/2 yds. for a one-fabric backing, with a horizontal seam
OR
2 yds. of main backing fabric, plus 1 1/8 yds. of contrast fabric, for a pieced backing
Other supplies:
Warm and Natural batting, measuring at least 62" by 71"
neutral thread
safety pins, if you wish to pin baste
sewing machine, equipped with a walking foot for machine quilting, if possible
basic sewing supplies
rotary cutter, quilting ruler, and cutting mat are optional, but helpful
